All fleece cage liners are absorbent and machine washable! They are a perfect cost-effective alternative to wood shavings. Listing is for fleece liner only, accessories ordered separately.
These fleece cage 3 layer liners are made with 100% polyester fleece and have UHAUL padding between two layers of fleece for ultimate absorbency. One side is normally a print and the opposite side is normally a solid (unless fabric availability requires a change).
This bedding that will lay flat on the bottom of the cage and an option to order an extra 6" or 12” strip on all sides so that it can be attached to the cage with clips (not included). This layer hugs and covers all 4 walls and creates the top layer of the floor.
Machine wash warm, gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. In order to extend the life of the wicking power, fabric softeners/dryer sheets are not recommended. It is recommended you wash before putting in the cage to help with the absorbency.
Fleece should be washed with unscented laundry detergent. Using vinegar in the rinse cycle helps as well. Regular detergent may leave residue on the material and prevent the wicking action which is needed for a successful fleece bedding solution.
Fleece requires MULTIPLE WASHINGS before the wicking kicks in
While I do pre-wash both the fleece as well as the absorbent material (U-Haul pads), you will still need to wash your liners multiple times before it does a great job at wicking urine into the lower layers. This is the case no matter what kind of fleece approach or product you use. The fleece I use has a 99% success rate so, initially, if you don't have the patience to do a lot of pre-washing, you'll need to change your liners out probably daily until it starts to wick well.
Pattern may vary slightly as multiple items may be available.
